Pretty aniemic.slow, and won't run the more modern and robust BTRFS file system. I would not recommend their low end J series. File serving, or syncing.one may expect better performance. For backups, slow and steady is fine most of the time, as it chugs away in the background. Same for all brands low-end choices will be the slowest. There is a reason high-end file servers have lots of RAM and large CPUs. throughput can be limited by many things, including RAM and CPU. One thing to consider: The cheapest boxes, are, well, cheap. Makes it easy and secure to get data or backup anywhere you have a network connection, without having to know an IP, fuss with firewall rules, or even touch a router. I really think their Quick Connect is under-rated. Backing up and sharing is enough to justify the cost. The best part is all you can do with it.but don't feel compelled. You may want to ensure that you have a backup of the data that you have stored on other cloud services. Consult the manufacturer's documentation to determine whether or not the service is compatible with the Code42 agent. Additionally, if the software uses soft or hard links to create the backup archive, it can create conflicts with the processing of your Code42 archive. However, most backup applications used alongside the Code42 agent, like Time Machine, should operate independently. There are special considerations if you are backing up really large files. You may be able to back up archives created by other backup applications with the Code42 agent. If you want additional copies of your archive for redundancy, consider backing up to multiple destinations.
